PowerPoint may be used as an interactive learning tool. It was with this intention that these guides were created.
During these guides, watch for text that appears without any prompts. These show the steps to be taken when executing a particular research strategy. An appearance of a rightward pointing navigation button indicates that all of the text has appeared and that you may click to the next slide.

Lexis-Nexis is a news, business, health, legal and reference
database. As such, it would be a useful resource if you were doing research relative to current issues. The focus of this guide is to show you how to locate news articles from the hundreds of different newspapers available though this resource.
The database, Worldcat makes accessible the catalogs of libraries from around the world. From the Worldcat interface, you can easily request materials from these libraries. In addition, Worldcat is useful in identifying subject headings descriptive of a research interest.
The World Wide Web as a resource for serious research requires some care in its use. This guide addresses advanced searches in Google, quality controlled gateways and the evaluation of information found on the Web.
