Borrowing Privileges: Students may borrow books, records, or scores for 30 days; videotapes or dvds for 14 days; and CDs for 7 days. You also have library borrowing privileges at Briar Cliff College, Heelan High School, Sioux City Public Library, WITCC, Sioux City School System, Marian Health, and St. Luke's Regional Medical Center. Your Morningside ID will be your library card. Contact Karen Johnson, Circulation Manager (x5245) for more information.. Database Access: You must be a Morningside College student to access our online databases. To get access to our online databases from off campus, go to our home page, and log-in using your Morningside College assigned email account information. If you are not a full-time student, you'll need to contact your course instructor to get the current semesters user name and password. Each semester the password will expire. Contact Joan Albenesius-Shaputis (x5247), Electronic/Technical Services Librarian if you have any problems. Interlibrary Loan: Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is the borrowing of books or periodical articles from other libraries. This service is available to students, faculty, and staff, and is generally free unless the supplier charges $5.00 or more, after which the individual borrower is asked to assume half the cost. ILL forms are available at the library or at illinfo.htm. Borrowers can expect to receive items in 7 to 14 days, although some requests take considerably longer. You will not be guaranteed an arrival date. You will be notified by email or phone when your items are available for pickup. The circulation desk (located on the first floor of the Learning Center) is where you can pickup and return borrowed items. Contact Susan Trisler, ILL/Technical Services (x5102) for more information. Reference:
The Reference desk is located on the first floor, across from
the circulation desk. This is where you will turn for assistance
in locating and using library resources. Do not hesitate to ASK
FOR HELP! Reference Hours during Fall and Spring semesters are: Reserves: Reserves are maintained at the circulation desk. To place items on reserve, faculty must complete a reserve request (available at the circulation desk) for each course. Because we are a small staff, we cannot guarantee less than a 48 hour turn around time. Personal copies must be clearly marked with the owner's name. Faculty are responsible for making photocopies of book chapters or journal articles compliant with current copyright law for use of these materials. Copyright law will be strictly followed. For additional information concerning reserves contact Karen Johnson, Circulation Manager (x5245). |
