The Mission of the Morningside College Library is to partner in the teaching and learning experience of Morningside College. Our purpose is to cultivate an
enthusiasm for lifelong learning and independent inquiry.


Our library --

  • Collaborates with faculty, staff and students in support of our liberal arts curriculum,
  • Provides instruction which fosters the philosophies of information literacy, teaching the necessary skills and competencies to access, identify, locate, evaluate and effectively use these resources,
  • Acquires, organizes, and maintains collections, whether electronic or print, which support and enhance the curriculum,
  • Fosters an environment that encourages study, intellectual and cultural endeavors, personal growth, and leisure and reflection, as well as ethical/civic responsibility,
  • Advocates for privacy rights, educational "fair use" guidelines, United States copyright laws and intellectual freedom,
  • Provides access and services that meet the information and research needs of our community.
