"Gender Undone, the Morningside Civic Union, and the Col. Bud Day Center invite you to join us on the "M" starting tomorrow, April 19, through April 20, as part of The Morningside Stand Against Sex Trafficking. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of and support for the Siouxland Coalition Against Human Trafficking, including their efforts to open Lila Mae's House, a restoration center in Sioux City for trafficking survivors.
We will stand on the "M" for a total of 24 hours starting at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, April 19, and ending at noon on Thursday, April 20.
As a part of the Stand, we will be selling t-shirts for $10 with all proceeds going to Lila Mae's House.
At 7 p.m. tomorrow (Wed. 4/19), there will be a community panel in the UPS Auditorium to discuss the issue of sex trafficking. Representatives from CSADV, the Sioux City Police Department, and the Siouxland Coalition Against Human Trafficking will lead the conversation.
For more information about the issue of human trafficking, we also encourage you to visit Break the Silence, a human trafficking exhibit that is now on display on the first floor of the Hickman-Johnson-Furrow Learning Center. This exhibit was created by the Siouxland Coalition Against Human Trafficking and the Siouxland Restoration Center with the assistance of students from Morningside College and Briar Cliff University. Break the Silence will be on display through April 29.
Please stop by the "M" tomorrow and Thursday -- stand with us -- and learn more about the issue of sex trafficking locally and globally.
Thank you in advance for your support!"
